![]() The Gettysburg portion of the combo from 1989 ran for 30 minutes & was narrated by Joe Cali who also narrated the Berkshire version of the Frisco 1522 revival from 1988: the Frisco Filly, while the Knox & Kane Portion of the Combo from 1990/1991 ran for a full hour & was narrated by Dan Bradford. ![]() Jerrys work is an important look back into both passenger &. Hello all, Im very close to completing my Berkshire Productions vhs collection currently being at 78 completion. ![]() In 1895, the NYLE&W went into bankruptcy and was reorganized into the Erie Railroad, itself merged into the Erie Lackawanna Railroad in 1960, who abandoned the line south of Lewis Run after acquiring trackage. While the 2 tourist lines have since been historic, the steam stars in this combo DVD have been thankfully preserved at other locations: Mississippian 76 is at the Oakland B&O Museum, Canadian Pacific 1278 (the steam engine well known for its boiler explosion in 1995) is at the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Sugar Creek Ohio, Canadian National 3254 is still at Steamtown, Chinese Mikado 1658 is at the Valley Railroad in Essex Connecticut as New Haven 3025, & Huntington & Broad Top 38 is at the Everett railroad in Duncansville awaiting to be restored to operational condition. This out-of-print video was shot & produced by the late Jerry Sliker before his passing in 2006. Another Extremely rare Berkshire Videography VHS, this one being about the now defunct Knox and Kane tourist line in Northwestern PA. This abandoned railway was built by the New York, Lake Erie and Western Railroad and was completed in 1882. Thankfully, the Oyster Bay Railroad Museum has obtained a Knox & Kane 'Ping' and will be moving it to their Museum at Oyster Bay, Long Island early in 2009. But in this 90 minute 2-in-1 Combo, there are 2 tourist railroads in the keystone state that have since been gone for good: Gettysburg, & the Knox & Kane. I have personally taken heat for not 'saving' a P54 coach at the Railroad Museum of Long Island, (that is a story for another thread and another time ). When railfans think of the state of Pennsylvania, they think of the Strasburg Railroad, the East Broad Top Narrow Gauge, Steamtown in Scranton, the Hot Spot of Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, the New Hope & Ivyland, the Reading & Northern, Williams Grove in Mechanicsburg, the Everett railroad, Middletown & Hummelstown, & busy mainline freights & Amtrak between Pittsburgh to the West, & Philadelphia to the east.
